Please keep in mind that all events are wind and weather permitting.  This event is FREE for kite fliers and spectators.  Spectators can view the kites and activities from the Boardwalk or while walking on the beach.

As a United States Navy Veteran and national recording artist, Dave Bray USA considers his music to be a "continuation of service" and has dedicated much of his career to honoring our Veterans, active duty military, fire, police and first responders. He served as an FMF Corpsman for the U.S.M.C. Sniper Teams, and following his service went on to lead the patriotic rock band "Madison Rising" to national success with his rock rendition of "The Star-Spangled Banner." 

Dave's solo career took off with his album "Music on a Mission," which debuted at number six on the iTunes rock charts. Since then, he's charted numerous singles including "Last Call," a tribute to fallen police. His music videos have had millions of views.

In-Person: 4-Day Expressive Watercolor Workshop

Fresh flowers in the studio will be the inspiration for the beginning of this dynamic workshop – progressing to the head and figure. Through a series of fun painting exercises, students will develop a more loose and natural approach – giving them an opportunity to be more spontaneous and expressive in their paintings.

In our approach to learning how to interpret the head and figure, we will learn to express translucent flesh tones, while focusing on the gesture of the person. Painting children will also be covered. We will work primarily from photos, – I will send photos and sketches of demos I will be painting – but you may bring your own photos of someone you want to paint instead (or work from some of mine that I bring).  Besides class demonstrations throughout the workshop, Janet will work individually with each person also, making sure they understand the painting concepts – a truly “hands on” experience. Focusing on discovering how to control and making dynamic color, design and expression, we will also have “Show and Tell” – an opportunity to share and see how we exceed in our expectations!!!

Sunfest Festival

Sunfest 2024 celebrates its 50th year as Ocean City's biggest and best festival!  Sunfest artists will delight your senses with their art and craft creations. Demonstrating artists will amaze you with their unique talents.  Over 30 food vendors will awaken your taste buds with delicious foods from famous Eastern Shore delicacies to pit beef, gyros, Asian cuisine and many more. Enjoy free live entertainment on two stages all day long. Children will enjoy hayrides and inflatables on the beach. Sunfest 2024 has something for everyone.
